Payees

A Payee is a person, business or organization that makes a payment to you. 

Depending on the business type you select under Preferences - Primary Business Type, the main screen may display the Payee field as payee, client, patient, customer, donor, tenant or other caption. This help file uses the caption Payee to mean all types of payee.

How to Create a Payee
There are several ways to enter/create a Payee.

1. Enter a Payee on the main screen while entering your checks. You can add additional payee details directly from a check (address, phone number drivers license) by right clicking or selecting F6.  Your cursor must be in the payee field for the right click and F6 options to be available.
2. From the menu bar select Maintenance -Payees.  If Payee is dimmed, you need to close the existing deposit transaction before continuing by selecting File Clear-All. You will be prompted to save if you have not yet saved your current deposit transaction. 
3. Import Payees by selecting File - Import Payees 

How to Edit a Payee:
Go to the menu bar, select Maintenance and click on Payees.  A new screen appears, highlight the payee that you want to edit.  Select Edit from the menu bar.

How to Delete a Payee:
Go to the menu bar, select Maintenance and click on Payees.  A new screen appears, highlight the payee that you want deleted.  Select Delete from the menu bar.

If Payee is dimmed from the Maintenance menu bar, you need to close the existing deposit transaction before continuing. To close a deposit select File Clear-All from the menu bar. You will be prompted to save if you have not yet saved your current deposit transaction. 

Payee Table

To open the Payee Table select Maintenance - Payees from the menu bar. If this option is dimmed you must select File-Clear All

Right clicking on any line will provide an option to edit or delete the current record.

Double clicking will open full payee edit window.
