Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What are the limitations of the DEMO version of EZ-DepositSlip?
A1. The DEMO version is a running version with a few limitations.  You can enter up to 10 items/checks in a deposit slip.    If you have 20 checks to deposit, make 2 separate deposit slips. Although there are no daily restrictions on the number of deposits you can make with the DEMO you will eventually see a DEMO watermark on your deposit slip print outs. To upgrade visit www.ezdepositslip.com.

Q2. Is EZ-DepositSlip available in a network version?
Q2. Yes. See EZ-DepositSlip Pro.

Q3. My deposit slip does not print/display the MICR Font correctly.
A3. Select Help -About. If you do not have the MICR Font installed, contact technical support.

Q4. My Bank won't accept EZ-DepositSlip. What should I do?
Q4. General Summary: There are 2 reasons your bank may reject EZ-DepositSlip. Our goal was to create a software application that saves time, money and hassle.  If your bank does not accept EZ-DepositSlip we suggest the following:

1. EZ-DepositSlip Looks Different
Find out why. Some bank tellers are new on the job and may not have ever seen a deposit slip that looks different. Ask to speak to the branch manager. Our experience is that branch mangers often give special permission for EZ-DepositSlip to be used.

2. No Magnetic Toner/Ink
This topic is discussed in great detail on our website.

Banks use scanning equipment to clear out all deposited items on a daily basis. Some banks use magnetic and optical readers (OCR) to read the MICR line on the of your check. If your bank uses magnetic readers and you are not using magnetic toner or ink your deposit slip may not be machine readable. If unreadable it will pass to a real person for verification.  Banks are set up for an occasional deposit slip or check that does not read automatically. According to the manger at a large Midwest regional bank, a few non magnetic deposit slips out of the 100,000 plus items that are processes each night do not present a problem.

EZ-DepositSlip meets all ANSI Accredited Standards Committee specifications for Bank Deposit Tickets as per  X9.100-120-2004 with the exception of magnetic ink/toner which is a function of your laser printer or ink jet printer.  Feel free to have your bank contact us for a copy of our MICR Qualifier test reports.
If your bank will not accept EZ-DepositSlips without magnetic toner you have a few options:

A. Use magnetic toner
Buy or pre-make deposit slips with magnetic toner. See our website for details.
B. Use the banks free Generic Slips
Attach your bank's pre-printed generic deposit slip (free in the bank lobby) to an EZ-DepositSlip.
C. Switch Banks
We don't mean to be flippant about this but banking is a competitive business. There is no federal law defining what a deposit slip should look like.  Your bank is telling you that they will accept a hand-written bank deposit over a perfectly accurate and neat deposit slip. If they value your business they will accommodate you or find another bank that will.

Q5. The MICR line on the bottom of the deposit slip does not print or appears truncated.
A5. See Preferences for answer.
